Cost Structure:

• The cost is per drug tested.If multiple drugs are tested, there is an additional charge of £66 per drug.
• The same saliva sample can be used to test for multiple drug groups but an additional charge of £66 will be made for each additional LC-MS/MS lab drug test requested on the same sample.  If more than 1 confirmation drug test is required on the urine sample please contact Access Diagnostics before sending to make an additional payment on 01263 731 168.

Confirmation Testing:

• A legally defensible confirmation lab drug test with full chain of custody is required for all non-negative Point of Care Tests (POCT).LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry) is the gold standard method for laboratory confirmation testing.

Processing Time:

• The typical processing time for the saliva sample once it reaches the lab is around 3- 5 working days (following receipt of the sample and accompanying documents by the lab)

Compliance and regulatory requirements:

• The lab test meets all current industry-specific regulatory requirements for legally defensible UK workplace and healthcare confirmation testing.
• The sample must be collected by someone other than the donor. The collector serves as a witness to the test and is required even for personal use.

Chain of custody and accreditation:

• The lab drug test pack includes full chain of custody processing, ensuring the integrity of the saliva sample.
• The drug testing is carried out in a UKAS-accredited UK laboratory, ensuring high standards and compliance with regulatory norms.

Reporting:

• The lab report will confirm the presence of the drug and report the levels of both the parent drug and its common metabolites found in the saliva (oral fluid) sample.
• The report is emailed exclusively to the designated email address on the order unless otherwise confirmed at the time of ordering.

Integrity checks:

• If the Laboratory confirmation pack or chain of custody documents are not correctly completed, the sample will fail lab integrity checks.
• If this happens, the sample will be deemed void, and the cost is non-refundable.

Sample Retention

• Each laboratory drug test requires two saliva samples: an A sample and a B sample.
• If the A sample tests negative: The B sample will be stored for 14 days and then disposed of.
• If the A sample tests positive: The B sample will be securely stored for 12 months before disposal, in case the donor requests further lab testing or review.
